  • In 1944 hotelul a fost distrus de o bomba, in timpul raidurilor aeriene anglo-americane.

What do they have in common? Certainly more than the clues below:

  • 100 years since they appeared in the world; they matched and match “high life” circles
  • the soul connection with central Bucharest and one of its best times: the Interbellum Period
  • a particular echo in the souls of the Bucharest citizens, but also of the Romanians in general, a promise overtime that everything of value remains forever
  • despite a troublesome existence, “life”,  successglamour is what defines them

Maria Tanase..

Words are superfluous when the voice says it all. We only dared choose a song suitable for the splendid autumn season.

Hotel Cismigiu

Brought hope back on the Elisabeta Boulevard. It can get the aforetime charm. It was some foreigners – the Spanish company, Hercesa, who endeavored offer it back to us. We, his “kins”, shunned it and filled it with sad stories. With dirt, squalidness. Today, Hotel Cismigiu shines majestically close to the Cismigiu Park, with an impeccable façade and a modern style interior, with “personality” traits pertaining to the Art Nouveau style.

[Sursa imagini: Hotel Cismigiu] Just like the hotel, the Spanish company also loves culture, which is obvious in the hosting of Instituto Cervantes and Libraria Humanitas Cismigiu which give a special “perfume” to a “stuffy” area since the “rebirth” of the hotel. Beraria Gambrinus, located on the hotel’s side towards the park, is the perfect place for the person in the mood for.. an irony (more or les subtle), a good beer, a good laugh and, possibly, “small talk” with pals, but natty in appearance and clothing, monserSa ne fie cu pardon!  Had I said the perfect place for the Bucharest citizen, it wouldn’t have mirrored the cosmopolitan spirit of the city, a city happy to receive guests, tourists. That kind of guests that understand its tumult from dawn to sunset and its dashing temper. Its hurry. Its restlessness… We were happy to notice the eco spirit of the place and the friendly one of the personnel. We were also nicely surprised by the care for the people with special needs, which can use the 3 rooms with specific facilities. 7 conference rooms and rooms ideal for long-stay complement the hotel’s customized/personalized offer. Ever since the beginning, the hotel has accommodated famous people; most recently, this spring, Mr. dl Jose Manuel Garcia Margallo, Spanish minister for external affairs and cooperation. Starting next year, the hotel will lure clients to the terrace/restaurant on the 6th floor, with natural products. You’re invited to take a look at Hotel Cismigiu’s rooms, browse through its stories, enjoy the images gallery and, why not, write a personal note in your own life or business story. The HC people take good care of details and are dedicated to turn a story into beautiful reality. The hotel itself is a proof. Many happy returns of the day, Hotel Cismigiu!

Did you know?

  • Initially, the hotel was called Palace Hotel and was one of the most grandiose in the city.
  • Between 1920-1930, the Elisabeta Boulevard was similar to Broadway in Bucharesthaving many big cinema houses with glowing signs, luring inside people eager to enjoy artistic, cultural “experiences” (as people in Bucharest are today as well).
  • In 1944 the hotel was destroyed by o bomb, during the English-American air raids.
  • Hotel Cismigiu got its current name in 1965, as derived from the park nearby where, 100 years before, was installed the first water gadget called “cismea”.
